Who’s Visiting Today?

One place for fun lessons, wow results.

We began with a simple idea: learning about our emotions is hugely important.

Rumi’s poem, “The Guesthouse,” greatly helps our adult clients understand what emotions are and how to respond to them.

So wouldn't children also benefit from Rumi’s wisdom?

Why not create a children’s book inspired by his famous poem?

As well as presenting Rumi’s ideas in words and illustrations children will understand, our book will include activities for children to strengthen their emotional intelligence. Some of these children will be able to do on their own; some with their parents’ guidance. We can all benefit from deepening our own emotional intelligence!

Meet the Authors

Loren Lomme

Loren Lomme was born and raised in Austin, TX but now lives in northern Colorado with her family. She enjoys the outdoors, reading, tap dancing, and having fun with family and friends. Loren is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist who has worked with children and families in various capacities for over two decades. In her counseling work, she incorporates expressive modalities and imagination whenever possible, and she's so excited to be publishing this children's book as a tool for both learning and enjoyment.

Leila Levinson

Leila is the parent of two adult sons, her parenting her greatest motivator for deepening her own relationship to her emotions. Along with parenting, her work has been an evolution: first a graduate student in literature, then a law student and social justice activist, then a professor of literature and writing, and now a mental health therapist who works with both children and adults.  Throughout her life, she has found much guidance in poetry. It directs us to the beauty that surrounds us and is within us and the path to being present to it.

We’re launching a Kickstart campaign to help us raise funds for publishing the book. We’ll post the link to the campaign once we launch it.
